Meet David! He will graduate with his MSDS in 2021.

Pronouns: he, him

Q: Where is your hometown?

A: Virginia Beach, VA

Q: What was your undergraduate degree (major), school, and year of graduation?

A: Chemical Engineering, University of Virginia, 2020

Q: Any post graduate degrees?

A: N/A

Q: If you worked full-time until recently, or are working now, please share your most recent/current employer and title?

A: N/A

Q: What are you particularly interested in learning about data science?

A: Looking forward to learning a lot more in-depth about the theory of various algorithms and statistical methods used for data science and then of course how to apply those in the context of a broader data "ecosystem"

Q: How do you hope to use data science in a future career?

A: I'd like to get some professional experience after graduating, whether that's in a company or, say, in an academic research lab of some sort. If I end up going to medical school, though, one thing I've thought would be really neat is to be able to combine data science experience and medical knowledge in a field like radiology to, for example, process imaging and aid in diagnosis.

Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?

A: I'm a big runner, and being home in Virginia Beach has been nice since it's so flat compared to Charlottesville.
