Application Process

Applications will be reviewed starting April 14, 2025. To apply, create a National Science Foundation Education and Training Application account in ETAP using your school email address. To complete your application, please prepare and submit the following materials:

• Unofficial transcript: A digital copy of your current transcript showing academic progress.
• Resume/CV: Highlight any coursework, projects, jobs, or skills relevant to data science, programming, prior project experience, or problem solving.
• Personal statement: Your statement should detail how past experiences have prepared you to contribute to your selected research project and what you hope to gain from the REDS experience. Be specific about your interests and goals.
• Reference contact information: Provide the name and email of a faculty member who knows you well and can speak about your academic potential. We will only contact your reference if you are a finalist for the program.
