Researching Data Science, Shaping the Future
An immersive summer experience in data science research, career growth, and community impact.
The Research Experience in Data Science (REDS) at the University of Virginia is a paid summer undergraduate research experience (REU) funded by the National Science Foundation (Award #2349503).
Participants spend eight weeks working on projects that advance our understanding of data science, its application, and how it works in the world. In addition to the research experience, students receive data skills training, enhance their data and AI literacy, deepen their career readiness, and build connections with peers and professional contacts.
The program is cosponsored by the UVA School of Data Science and the UVA Center for Community Partnerships.
