Tour the School of Data Science

From May to August, we welcome visitors on a walk-in basis. You may explore the building on your own during business hours. Visit the welcome desk at the entrance for a self-guided tour handout. If you have questions about your visit or would like to schedule a tour, email sdsadmissions@virginia.edu.

In September, we will resume regularly scheduled Student Ambassador-led tours.

Summer Orientation 2026

We look forward to meeting incoming UVA students at Summer Orientation! On Day 2, we will host an information session in the Newcomb Hall South Meeting Room. Refer to the Orientation schedule for details. We will also have an Admissions team member available in the School of Data Science building on those dates to speak with visitors.

B.S. in Data Science

Current or incoming UVA students may schedule a virtual advising appointment or email sdsadmissions@virginia.edu with questions related to the application process, prerequisites, course requirements, etc.
High school students should contact the  Office of Undergraduate Admission  for questions related to first-year admission.
Connect with our Admissions Ambassadors who are here to answer your questions and be an additional resource as you consider the data science major. Feel free to email one directly with questions about the School and student life.

Schedule a virtual advising appointment about MSDS Residential and/or Online.
Connect with the MSDS Residential Student Ambassadors or MSDS Online Student Ambassadors to learn about life in the program, its curriculum, and their experience as a student in the School of Data Science.
Attend an Information Session to learn more about the Ph.D. or MSDS program.
