Ellucian's Laura K. Ipsen Joins School of Data Science Advisory Board
The University of Virginia's School of Data Science is pleased to announce that Laura K. Ipsen, president and chief executive officer of Ellucian, has joined the School's advisory board. Ellucian is the leading technology solutions provider for more than 2,900 higher education institutions across the globe.
As a member of the advisory board, which counsels the leadership of the School of Data Science on a wide range of policy matters, Ipsen will bring a wealth of insight and experience from a career as a technology executive that spans more than 25 years.
Prior to joining Ellucian, Ispen served in senior positions at some of the world's leading companies, including Oracle Corporation, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
She has received numerous accolades in recent years. EdTech Digest named her a top 100 influencer in its 2022-23 report. Virginia Business recognized her in 2021 as part of the Virginia 500: Power List and Women Leadership List. That same year, ASU+GSV presented her with a Power of Women Award.
Earlier this year, Ipsen delivered the keynote speech at the Women in Data Science Charlottesville conference, sponsored annually by the School of Data Science.
During her remarks, Ipsen recounted her career trajectory and how she had navigated different periods of technological evolution.
She encouraged students to remember a guiding principle that had helped shape her life: "Follow what you really love to do, and you'll find your way."
