The Dean’s Cabinet serves as the primary advisory body to the Dean of the School of Data Science, providing strategic oversight of the School’s academics, operations, and financial health. The Cabinet advances the School’s mission, core values, and reputation through collaborative leadership and informed decision-making. Membership includes unit heads, the chair of the Faculty Council, and representatives from the undergraduate and graduate student councils.
“Unconventional by some standards, as founding dean, I wanted a leadership team across faculty staff and students that reflects our values of inclusivity and openness and also provides advice on the collective operation and future of the school. This advice is supplemented by bidirectional information exchange with faculty and student councils, academic deans, and the operations team. Couple that with frequent communication through videos, social media, the Dean’s Blog, and unit newsletters, and our school is well advised and informed.
