Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

My pursuit of a doctorate was inspired by my years in industry working as a data scientist introducing machine-learning solutions to a new industry. The systems thinking, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary nature of the work inspired me to dedicate myself to research. My interests lie in complex systems, network science, and combining artificial intelligence and medical research.
