Jason Williamson

Jason Williamson is an assistant professor of the practice in Data Science, a position he assumed after serving as a Lecturer at the School. 

Williamson leads several startups within the Eagle Venture Fund portfolio. He serves as CEO and CTO of Mythworx, an AI company focused on neuromorphic computing and energy-efficient artificial intelligence systems. He also co-founded TruePath Vision with his son, a 2024 graduate of the University of Virginia College of Arts & Sciences, to develop technology aimed at combating human trafficking. In addition, he works with companies developing secure communications and defense technologies. Williamson also supports anti-human trafficking initiatives through his work with the Tim Tebow Group and Tim Tebow Foundation.

Prior to joining Oracle in 2017, Williamson created and led several key initiatives within the investment and startup community at Amazon Web Services (AWS). There he launched AWS’s Private Equity Program and alliances with Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, PwC, and Deloitte. Williamson has a background in both Fortune 500 firms (Capital One, GE, Amazon, and Oracle) and the startup world. Among his startup efforts, he cofounded the construction industry’s first CRM SaaS offering and an international NGO (nongovernmental organization) for entrepreneurial development.

Williamson was an assistant professor for five years at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and has authored three books. He has also served as an associate professor of entrepreneurship at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in North Carolina. Williamson serves on the Board of Visitors at North Carolina Central University’s School of Business, an HBCU (historically black college or university), also in North Carolina. He has also proudly served his country as a United States Marine.

Williamson holds an M.S. in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University.
