Data is everywhere, and data science powers the way we solve problems, make decisions, and understand the world around us.

At the School of Data Science, you can tailor your B.S. in Data Science degree to your interests through more than 10 concentrations, while gaining hands-on experience through:

There are two pathways to join the School of Data Science as an undergraduate:

• Assured Enrollment – An early admission pathway that allows first-year students to secure a place in the Data Science major before the traditional application cycle.
• Traditional Spring Application – First-year students may apply to the Data Science major during the spring of their first year.

The BSDS program has two prerequisites to be completed by the end of the first year:

• DS 1001: Foundations of Data Science (3 credits)

• DS 1002: Programming for Data Science (3 credits) - Refer to our FAQs for alternatives to DS 1002. 

  Both courses are offered in the fall and spring semesters, can be taken in any order, have no prerequisites, and may be taken concurrently.
