Judah Axelrod is Senior Data Scientist at the Urban Institute. He holds a BA in Economics from Rutgers University and an MSc in Data Science from the London School of Economics. Before joining the Urban Institute, Judah worked as an analyst in antitrust and competition policy at NERA Economic Consulting. Judah will discuss data science's role in research and public policy, highlighting the Urban Institute's impactful projects. He'll explain how data science addresses issues like structural racism and AI fairness, and explore its evolving nature in policy research. Judah will also offer career advice and insights on how data science can drive societal change and shape policy. This event is co-hosted by the UVA Office of African-American Affairs (OAAA).
