Emily Cathey completed an undergraduate degree in politics at UVA in three years and is currently completing an M.S. in Data Science. Throughout her undergraduate studies, Cathey noticed a common theme around statistical significance and wanted to better understand the story behind the numbers.

New Students to M.S. in Data Science Bring Diversity of Perspective

This Summer, the two new cohorts of M.S. in Data Science students joined the School of Data Science. 59 students joined the residential program, and an additional 6 dual degrees joined the two year MSDS/MBA program in June. 21 students joined the online program in July.

Minor in Data Science

With an interdisciplinary focus and collaboration at the heart of the School of Data Science, creating an opportunity for undergraduate students at the University to pursue an education in Data Science has been a goal for a long time. To achieve this, the School of Data Science has created a minor in Data Science, which was officially approved in May.
