Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

Pursuing a Ph.D. in Data Science at the University of Virginia gives me the chance to bridge theory and practice. I am looking forward to exploring new concepts in systems and analytics that can be applied to operational problems. I’d like to use what I learn to help build and deploy tools to address real-world biomedical questions.
