Dr. R. Andrew Taylor is a professor of emergency medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and serves as vice chair of research and innovation in the Department of Emergency Medicine. His work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital health, biomedical informatics, and clinical care, with an emphasis on responsibly integrating emerging technologies into healthcare systems.
Taylor collaborates across the University of Virginia, including with the University of Virginia School of Data Science, to advance interdisciplinary research that bridges medicine, data science, ethics, and health policy. His research explores AI-driven clinical decision support, machine learning applications in emergency medicine, and the development of data infrastructure that improves patient care and healthcare delivery.
