Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Data Science because I want to advance research in Responsible AI and transparency in machine learning, ensuring that models are accurate but also fair, explainable, and trustworthy. My long-term goal is to bridge the gap between advanced AI methods and real-world applications, particularly in education, healthcare, and public service, where data-driven insights can make a meaningful social impact.
