Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

I'm interested in exploring the potential of machine learning for image generation of real-life situations. In particular, how can realistic images/videos be generated from a simple textual prompt. The Ph.D. in Data Science at UVA is a cornerstone for achieving this goal.
