Joseph Choi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Virginia School of Data Science. His research focuses on scientific machine learning, with interests in physics modeling, latent representations, and engineering design. He is particularly interested in understanding the structure of learned representations and leveraging that understanding to improve downstream modeling and design. His experience spans academia, industry, consulting, and entrepreneurship, including co-founding a technology startup.
