Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

I want to learn how to formulate a novel idea, put together the right resources and people to work on it, do research with the highest standards, and take the findings to marketplaces. Learning all of this in the context of a Ph.D. in Data Science will allow me to tackle important questions arising from the real world data we have available and take my research insights beyond journals and conferences to places with greater agency to put them into action such as industry, government, and non-profit organizations.
