Beth Wright, a licensed psychotherapist with 25 years of experience, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Richmond in 1994 and a Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia in 1997. Wright holds certifications in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), and Integrative (Holistic) Health from the University of Arizona. Additionally, Wright has extensive training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) for Complex Trauma (parts work), Brainspotting, Hakomi, Core Energetics, dream work, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and traditional modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
As one of approximately 9,000 clinicians worldwide certified by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), Wright is recognized for expertise in EMDR therapy, an evidence-based integrative psychotherapy effective in treating PTSD, abuse, depression, and anxiety. Advanced training in combining EMDR with IFS, mindfulness practices, and Jungian dreamwork further enhances Wright's therapeutic approach.
Wright has been repeatedly honored for excellence in bedside manner by Our Health Magazine in the Roanoke Valley and was recognized as a top social worker in Salem by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals. For many years, Wright has supervised bachelor's- and master's-level clinicians working toward their degrees and licenses and enjoys consulting with therapists establishing private practices.
In therapy, Wright adheres to Carl Jung's foundational philosophy that each client is unique and that the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of successful work. The dynamic interplay between the therapist-client relationship and clinical interventions fosters an experiential and deeply rewarding journey of growth and healing.
