Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

I am pursing a PhD in Data Science because I want to grow in my understanding and application of Data Science. In this exponentially expansion of the information domain, I hope to grow as a leader in both my current military job as well grow in the ways that I can serve and mentor others in this professional space.
