Job Overview

Build and expand SDS’s executive and non-degree education footprint in Northern Virginia. You’ll build pipelines, cultivate partnerships, and coordinate offerings that advance SDS’s business development and growth objectives in lockstep with UVA NOVA’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business strategy and development across executive education and non-traditional programs; drive outreach to firms and learners at all levels and ensure synergy with the UVA NOVA team.
  • Deliver bi-weekly opportunity assessments for SDS and UVA NOVA leadership, highlighting experiential and non-degree offerings responsive to regional needs (e.g., AI, health, cybersecurity). Maintain organized records of activities, proposals, and contracts.
  • Conduct outreach meetings (in-person preferred; online if requested) with potential clients, sponsors, and corporate partners; network to build program offerings and launch new activities with SDS and UVA NOVA colleagues.
    Support responses to RFIs/RFPs and other opportunities, collaborating across UVA units; prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Perform capture management as agreed with SDS and UVA NOVA leadership.
  • Contribute to curriculum and program design for SDS non-degree offerings; foster collaborations across UVA schools/units and engage alumni and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business development experience in executive/professional education or workforce development, ideally within the Northern Virginia market.
  • Familiarity with applied data science/AI topics across sectors such as healthcare, cybersecurity, and government/contracting.
  • Strength in partner cultivation, capture/RFI/RFP support, and operational coordination.

Compensation

$40,000 base pay for 12 months with uncapped incentive payments for contracts and programs brought in after sales over $1M.
