Northern Virginia online students and M.S. in data science alumni recently united for a networking event in Arlington, Virginia. Federico Cohen Freue, a senior vice president at Mastercard and member of the UVA School of Data Science advisory board, attended the collaborative event organized by the School's Office of Student Affairs and its director of development.

“Hannah Pede, our assistant director of career development, and I often emphasize to current students the importance of networking,” said Reggie Leonard, associate director for career connections and community engagement.

“It was amazing to be able to collaborate with Kristy Simpkins, assistant director of online student success and engagement, and Stephanie Fentress, director of development, to bring together our amazingly vibrant and continuously growing NoVA community,” he continued.

Fentress was happy to see students connect with one another during the event.

“Hosting alumni and student networking events is a source of pride for me,” she said. “These gatherings are the groundwork for future success, building a network that propels the School of Data Science forward.”
