
John Van Horn Recognized with OHBM 2025 Education in Neuroimaging Award

John Van Horn, professor of data science and professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, has been recognized by the Organization for Human Brain Mapping as the 2025 recipient of the Education in Neuroimaging Award. The OHBM established the annual award in 2015 for a member who has made significant contributions to education and training in the field of neuroimaging.
Van Horn is at the forefront of modern brain research, leveraging cutting-edge data science techniques to understand cognitive function in health and disease. His extensive research interests include human neuroimaging, patterns, and biomarkers in brain health and disease, and the brain as a data science, among other areas. He currently teaches brain mapping with MRI and has served as a capstone research project mentor in the M.S. in Data Science program.
In addition to an award of $2,500, Van Horn's achievements will be acknowledged during the opening ceremonies and awards presentation at the OHBM 2025 annual meeting in Brisbane, Australia.
