The Kupperman Lab uses data science methods and products that help practitioners make better data-informed decisions across musculoskeletal health, human movement, and performance. Our research integrates longitudinal clinical and biomedical data, biomechanics, physiology, and emerging sensing technologies to build interpretable models, decision-support tools, dashboards, and data systems that translate complex information into useful insights for clinicians, coaches, researchers, and other practitioners.
The HOOS (Health, Outcomes & Optimization in Sport) Lab is the sport-focused component of the Kupperman Lab. Through partnerships, the School of Data Science, and collaborators across the University, HOOS develops and evaluates tools that support decisions related to athlete health, performance, on-court/field performance, business, technology use, and data management. This work spans athlete monitoring platforms, performance dashboards and reports, technology validation, longitudinal data infrastructure, and responsible approaches to the collection and use of human performance data.
