The Digital Sovereignty Observatory is an academic and policy research network that studies how new technologies like biometric identity systems, digital public infrastructures, and low-earth orbit satellite networks reshape social and political boundaries. It explores the consequences of these innovations for digital sovereignty across four tiers: individual, organizational, state, and international.

Our international team brings together researchers, practitioners, civil society partners, and community organizations to bridge in-depth research with practical engagement and advocacy.

This lab is open to Ph.D. students.
