Grushka-Cockayne serves as a professor of business administration with UVA's Darden School of Business as well as a professor of data science by courtesy. Her research and teaching focus on data science, forecasting, project management, and behavioral decision-making. Grushka-Cockayne is also a frequent speaker at international conferences in the areas of decision analysis, project management, and management science.
As a teacher, she has received the Darden Morton Leadership Faculty Award in 2011; the University of Virginia's Mead-Colley Award in 2012; the Darden Outstanding Faculty Award in 2013 and 2022; the Faculty Diversity Award in 2013 and 2018; and, in 2015, she won the University of Virginia All University Teaching Award.
Prior to academia, Grushka-Cockayne worked in San Francisco as a marketing director of an Israeli ERP company. She has also served as a consultant to international firms in the aerospace and pharma industries.
