Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Data Science to further my theoretical knowledge in the field and gain the skills to lead cutting-edge research. I am excited about how data science can provide value within medicine and public health, particularly through research aiming to increase explainability in machine learning models.
