Why pursue a Ph.D. in Data Science?

I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Data Science due to its broad applicability across diverse fields, from biomedical sciences to advanced manufacturing. My goal is to leverage my expertise in mathematics and mechanical engineering to develop machine learning methodologies that can serve as a bridge, offering innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges in industry, thereby contributing meaningfully to societal advancement.
