Sponsoring a capstone project

Our Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program graduates working professionals capable of obtaining value from data for their employers. Working toward this aim, all MSDS students complete a capstone project. Capstone projects challenge students to acquire and analyze data to solve real-world problems faced by commercial and government sponsors.

Project teams consist of two to four MSDS students and one or more faculty advisors. These teams work with sponsoring organizations to provide valuable recommendations to address strategic and operational issues. Depending on the needs of the sponsor, teams may develop web-based applications that can support ongoing decision making.
