To learn more about how Agritech and environmental technologies are leveraging data science to meet the challenge of climate change, please join the UVA School of Data Science’s next First Friday speaker on April 2 at noon, featuring UVA alum and Forbes Under 30’s Payam Pourtaheri, Founder and CEO of AgroSpheres.
AgroSpheres’ proprietary bioprocessing and manufacturing platform, Agricell, holds 30 patents issued or pending globally, serving up alternatives to synthetic chemicals. With $12 million in funding, AgroSpheres has set up partnerships with a handful of large, global corporations and leverages data science to further its mission.
Pourtaheri leads business development, manages day-to-day operations and leads the regulatory and IP strategies for the AgroSpheres. He graduated from UVA in 2016 with a background in nanomedicine, materials science, and chemistry.
