The Second Annual UVA Conference on Leadership in Business, Data and Intelligence is hosted by the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and organized in partnership with the UVA School of Data Science. The Value Chain of Ethical AI will gather academics and practitioners for a reception on Thursday, December 5, and for a day-long exploration on Friday, December 6, of where artificial intelligence is headed over the next five years, what opportunities and risks businesses will face and how, as responsible leaders in business, we can navigate these “once in a generation” times.

The conference features keynotes, panels, demos and other content that are specifically developed for responsible leaders whose organizations are working to advance the capabilities of today’s AI solutions or realize the benefits of AI in their organizations.

The Value Chain of Ethical AI will address three primary questions, while maintaining consistent emphasis on ethical and leadership considerations throughout the day:

1.    Where is AI now and where will it be in five years?
2.    What AI business opportunities exist and how do we capitalize on them?
3.    What AI risks are most acute and how do we mitigate them?

Featured Speakers to Include:

  • Raj Venkatesan, Ronald Trzcinski Professor of Business Administration, Darden
  • Tom Davenport, Bodily Bicentennial Professor in Analytics, Darden
  • Kirsten Martin, William P. and Hazel B. White Center Professor of Technology Ethics IT, Analytics and Operations, Mendoza College of Business
