Belonging Assessment

The UVA School of Data Science is committed to promoting a culture of belonging. In the fall of 2024, we completed the School’s first assessment of belonging among staff, faculty, and post-docs.  As a school without walls, committed to research and transparency, we partnered with Ayana Younge, assistant professor at the Darden School of Business, to combine our assessment of belonging within SDS with a research study to examine practices and behaviors that help to enhance belonging at work. Results will be shared internally, and staff, faculty, and post-docs will be engaged in next steps with examples from the literature.
